Sometimes I get really concerned about people who are anti bamon or anti draeden or any other biracial couple. If you dislike bamon because of your personal opinions on Damon than ok I can’t fault you on that but sometimes I really think it has to do with the women in these ships being of color, specifically black. It just makes me mad because it’s like when black women are saving your white faves from death or protecting them than they’re all good but if they want to pursue a relationship all of a sudden there’s a problem. So a black woman is only good when she saving your white faves but a relationship? Oh no now there’s a problem, and part of the problem is that these shows specifically TVD shoe horn black women into these roles that make them appear hard and bitter and a typical angry black woman who don’t need no man. They’re supposed to be big and bold and sassy and not desirable or pretty or quiet or shy. I sincerely believe that is why Bonnie has never had a consistent relationship outside of Jeremy who cheated on her, because that would mean that Julie was putting the time and energy into developing a black character outside of stereotypes and she’s not ready for that. Like fuck that I’m not a trope stop representing women who look like me as hard and bitter, were allowed to be vulnerable, we are allowed to wilt.
